Amy Rae
Amy Thompson is a self-taught watercolor artist based in the Manitoba Parkland. With a lifelong passion for creativity, she finds deep joy in creating art and gifting it to others.
Born and raised on a small cattle farm in Manitoba’s Red River Valley, Amy earned a Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba, where she met her husband Kevin. They now live on a small acreage in the Ochre River area with their two children, chickens, dogs, cats, and bottle-fed calves.
Amy discovered watercolor painting in 2019 while at home with her young children and has been passionately pursuing it ever since. Inspired by the beautiful cards her grandmothers sent her throughout the years, she launched her business in 2020 with hand-painted greeting cards. What began as a small market stall has grown into a business she loves.
When not painting, Amy enjoys outdoor adventures with her family — playing with the kids, caring for farm animals, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
She is always happy to connect and shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of her art and farm life on Instagram.
